Dr. Ross's Expert Review
Cartigenix HP is a joint support product from Calroy, the same company behind Arterosil. It uses a proprietary blend called RestorCel, which pairs serratol from Boswellia serrata with a standardized North India celery seed extract. The goal is structural: support the cartilage that cushions joints, and with it, flexibility and comfort.
Boswellia is the best studied part of this formula. Several small human trials of Boswellia serrata extracts found better knee joint comfort and function over one to four months of use, and one trial of an enriched extract saw changes within the first week. The 2024 review of the field points to inflammatory pathway modulation as the working mechanism. The trials use different extracts and doses than this blend, so I treat them as supporting the ingredient class, not this exact capsule.
The maker also points to small company-sponsored studies of this blend, which report reductions in pain scores, improvements in walking distance, changes in as little as 15 days, and increases in cartilage-related biomarkers within 90 days. Those studies are small, maker-funded, and not independently verified, so I read them as promising rather than proven.
The routine is simple: one capsule twice a day with food. The maker’s research suggests comfort changes may appear in as little as two weeks, but cartilage works slowly, so I give it a full 90 days before judging. It is vegan and free of gluten, dairy, and soy.
No supplement rebuilds a joint on its own. What this product can do is support the structural side of joint health as part of a bigger plan you build with your physician.
How I Use It in My Practice
In my practice I use Cartigenix HP for ongoing structural joint support in active people whose joints ache and stiffen with use. I have people take one capsule twice a day with food and commit to a 90 day trial, keeping a simple written log of comfort and walking distance. I see no reason to pulse it; the work it supports is slow and steady. If there is no meaningful change at 90 days, we stop and reassess rather than keep going out of habit. I pair it with movement work, since joint comfort support works best alongside motion, not instead of it. People taking prescription medicines, or women who are pregnant or nursing, review it with their physician first.
The Research, in Dr. Ross's Words
The boswellia science is the strongest leg of this file. A 2003 randomized trial of a Boswellia serrata extract found better knee joint function and comfort after 120 days. A 2008 trial of an extract enriched with AKBA found changes within seven days. A 2019 pilot trial of a novel extract added consistent results, and a 2024 review ties the effect to modulation of the 5-LOX and COX-2 inflammatory pathways. Three small trials agreeing on direction is real signal, though the samples are small and the extracts differ from this proprietary blend.
Small, maker-sponsored studies of this blend report: a 67% reduction in pain scores, a 50% improvement in walking distance, changes in as little as 15 days, and increases in cartilage-related biomarkers within 90 days, plus increased cartilage thickness on x-ray. These figures come from company-supported research that has not been independently verified, and they describe those studies’ findings, not a guarantee of results for any user. With that caveat in view, the studies are enough for me to use it as structural support.
