Dr. Ross's Expert Review
Arterosil HP is one of the more interesting products I work with, because it targets a structure most people have never heard of: the endothelial glycocalyx. This is the micro-thin gel lining that coats the inside of every blood vessel. It regulates what passes through vessel walls, triggers nitric oxide for healthy blood flow, and shields sensitive barriers like the blood-brain barrier. When it is injured, blood vessel integrity and circulation may suffer.
The key ingredient is rhamnan sulfate, a sulfated polysaccharide from the green seaweed Monostroma nitidum, delivered here as the proprietary MonitumRS extract. This is not a random seaweed pick. Rhamnan sulfate has been studied for thirty years, primarily for cardiovascular health, and the research includes laboratory work showing it supports and maintains the glycocalyx lining. I am candid that much of that evidence is from lab studies plus some early human work, not large trials. But the mechanism is sound.
When do I reach for it? In my practice, vascular support matters when someone is dealing with elevated cytokines, oxidative stress, or circulatory complaints that come with chronic illness. I also consider it when people have intracellular infections of endothelial cells and I want targeted support of the vessel lining. The glycocalyx is one of the first structures to feel that strain, and supporting it directly makes sense to me.
I usually have people take one capsule twice a day with or without food. It is generally well tolerated and fits alongside most regimens. If someone takes prescriptions, they clear it with their prescribing physician first, which is my rule for anything new.
Where does it fit? This is foundational circulatory support, not a germ killer and not a stimulant. It does the quiet structural work. I like it for that reason.
How I Use It in My Practice
I use Arterosil HP as ongoing vascular support, one capsule twice a day with or without food. I reach for it when a protocol involves circulatory and vascular concerns, where ongoing circulatory support is the goal, because the endothelial glycocalyx is one of the first structures to feel that strain. I pair it with the foundations first: sleep, movement, and the biofilm or germ-killing work we are already doing. I keep it running for a few months before deciding whether to continue. In my experience it is well tolerated, and I have anyone on prescriptions check with their physician before adding it. I do not expect dramatic results in a week. This is slow structural support, and I tell people exactly that.
The Research, in Dr. Ross's Words
The rhamnan sulfate evidence base is early. The one human study on file is a small published trial of a rhamnan sulfate dietary supplement reporting favorable vascular and metabolic measures. The rest is lab and animal work on the seaweed-derived compound itself, including a mouse study showing less plaque formation and vascular inflammation and reviews of its biological activities. No trial tests this exact product for the vascular support I use it for, so I treat the ingredient as promising rather than proven.
