About This Video Article on POTS
In this video article Marty Ross MD describes how to diagnose and manage POTS in Lyme disease with natural medicines and prescriptions. The full name of POTS is postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. In this article I review steps to manage this problem.
What is POTS?
POTS is a dysfunction of the regulation of heart rate and blood pressure causing racing heart, low blood pressure, fainting and near fainting, poor exercise tolerance, and fatigue. In Lyme disease it is caused by Lyme infection of a nerve called the vagal nerve. Babesia infection can also causes this type of dysfunction. The vagal nerve is one of twelve cranial nerves that regulates the adrenaline and anti-adrenaline system of the body. The vagal nerve regulates blood pressure and heart rate.
