Cookie Policy

Effective date: November 10th, 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, local storage, and scripts) that TreatLyme uses, and how you control them. It adds to our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

How we use cookies

We only set cookies that are strictly necessary until you choose otherwise. Analytics and advertising cookies load only if you turn them on in our cookie banner. Because our pages are about health, we treat this as opt-in for every visitor, wherever you live.

Categories

Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to work and stay secure, and to remember your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off, but you can block them in your browser, which may break parts of the site.

Site search. When you search, your search terms go to AddSearch to return results. Search sets no cookies and sends no identifiers.

Analytics (off until you opt in). Google Analytics and PostHog help us see which content is read and useful, in aggregate.

Advertising (off until you opt in). Google Ads and the Meta Pixel measure our ads and let us show TreatLyme ads to people who visited our site. When on, Google and Meta receive identifiers and information about the pages you view, which can relate to health topics. Embedded YouTube videos also load only when this is on.

Your choices

  • Cookie settings: use the “Cookie settings” link in our footer at any time to turn categories on or off. Turning a category off stops those cookies from being set in future; you can delete existing ones in your browser.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a refusal of advertising cookies and an opt-out of sale and sharing for that browser.
  • Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies in your browser.
  • Platform settings: Google and Meta offer their own ad settings in your accounts with them.

Emails

Our emails may contain tracking pixels that tell us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. You can block this by turning off automatic image loading in your email app, or unsubscribe at any time.
